Giovanni Mantovani appointed first vice-president of the European Chapter of UFI

The CEO & Director General of Veronafiere has been appointed to the board position with UFI - the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry representing 630 members from 83 countries. He will coordinate and manage the activities of UFI's European members in terms of strategic development and new initiatives and research.

Further prestigious recognition for Veronafiere's national and international activities. Veronafiere's CEO & Director General, Giovanni Mantovani, has been elected for the period 2014-2017 first Vice-President of the European Chapter of UFI - the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

Together with Chairman Gerald Bose, CEO of Koelnmesse, he will supervise the activities of 314 European members of UFI in terms of strategic development and new initiatives and research.

The appointment was officially announced during the Annual UFI European Seminar, held in St. Petersburg.

Mantovani's three-year mandate will begin in late October, after the UFI Annual General Meeting scheduled during the Congress in Bogotá (29 October-1 November 2014).

 

UFI - the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry brings together main trade show organisers, exhibition centres and national and international sector associations. UFI today has 630 members in 83 countries representing 4,500 events, 150 million visitors, 700,000 exhibitors and a net exhibition area of 40 million sq.m.

'I would like to thank all members for their trust that is a source of great pride for me not the least in that it expresses appreciation for my work as CEO of Veronafiere and in the context of the sector as a whole on an international scale. This new position is a great responsibility for me as well as a further incentive to strengthen commitment even more to enhance the world trade fair and exhibition system. Together with colleagues, we will work to support the development of growing collaboration between institutions all over the world with the aim of encouraging the exchange of ideas and sharing of strategies for an increasingly effective and well-balanced support for companies,' said Giovanni Mantovani.
