Meat Exhibition scheduled 31 January- 3 February 2018 alongside the Agricultural Show

The 27th edition of Eurocarne, the trade show focusing on the meat sector, will now be held in conjunction with Fieragricola, the international primary sector event scheduled in Verona 31 January - 3 February 2018.

'Recent dynamics associated with consumption of meat and the needs of operators and consumers in terms of animal welfare, information and production distinctiveness demand a new format for Eurocarne that will re-launch the sector as a whole not the least through synergic dialogue' said Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere.

Diego Valsecchi, Sales Director at Veronafiere suggests that Fieragricola 'can be a useful tool for promoting integration between agriculture-livestock and food processing sectors with the aim of stimulating the competitiveness of the sector and improving its profitability in a context where Veronafiere boasts 45% of the agro-food trade show offering in Italy'.

Eurocarne targets all players in the short chain cooperating in close synergy with each other. Figures include breeders of various types of livestock, multi-functional agricultural companies, farm holiday centres, small-business workshops as well as butchers, caterers, restaurateurs and medium/large scale distribution.

During 2016, the number of consumers of meat increased, thereby reversing the negative trend characterising the last few years. According to the recent Eurispes Italy 2017 Report, consumption of fresh beef in the first three weeks of the year posted a growth trend of 14%, followed by delicatessen meats and pork (+10% and + 8% respectively).

Fieragricola and Eurocarne share many topics of joint interest, from genetics to nutrition and animal welfare; technological innovation and traceability; the exploitation of 'Made in Italy' and health & hygiene regulations in the sector, defined in relation to the domestic market and exports. Mention must also be made of new thematic areas involving small business workshops, farm holiday centres and the rural world, where new technologies and new production models can ensure more added value.

Exhibitors at Eurocarne include manufacturers of slaughtering systems and equipment, producers of professional technology and equipment for meat processing, as well as producers of technology for product storage and packaging; the flavourings and additives sector; product consortia and tutelage consortia; set-ups for processing workshops, preparation & packaging and points of sale; services, trade associations, trade press.
